Five Emanate Health Leaders Named “Women of Influence Health Care" in Los Angeles
COVINA, Calif. ― Five Emanate Health leaders, many of whom were on the frontlines of the health system's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, have been named 2022 "Women of Influence Health Care" in the region by the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ). Emanate Health is the largest health care system in the San Gabriel Valley.
"During the height of the pandemic, these outstanding women were treating COVID-19 patients, recruiting and training new clinical staff, securing hard-to-find lab testing materials, crunching daily pandemic numbers and addressing potential legal issues," said Roger Sharma, Emanate Health President & Chief Executive Officer. "The contributions that these talented leaders made during the pandemic were critical to our response."
The five Emanate Health leaders selected for this recognition included:
- Angela Bernacki, Chief People Officer
- Sunanda Chatterjee, MD, a pathologist
- Brenda Hayakawa, MD, an Emergency Department physician
- Loucine Kasparian, Infection Control Director
- Arifa Majeed, Corporate Director In-house Legal Counsel
The women, chosen from among more than 100 women in health care throughout the region, were recognized for exceptional stewardship and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the health and wellbeing of the Los Angeles community.
Last year, Bernacki was recognized as a Woman of Influence by the LABJ. Two years ago, Emanate Health Chief Nurse & Clinical Executive Melissa Howard and Jacqueline Bracy, MD, a practicing gynecologist and president of Emanate Health Medical Group (which is affiliated with Emanate Health), were named among the "Top Women Leaders in Healthcare" by the publication.
